Milo got a tick!

We went camping in Arkansas and when we came home I was petting Milo and felt the strangest little blister on his head so of course Jess was at work and I called him to see what I should do. It really looked like it was connected to Milos head. Jess said to try to pull it off so I got some tweezers and it came off. I was so worried that I hurt him because I thought it was part of him. I picked it up off the floor and lo and behold it had legs!!!!

Frogs!!

We really need to invest in a doggie door for Milo. He loves to come in and out all day long and it gets really old walking back and forth from the door to let him in and out so we end up just leaving the door cracked, the only problem is, little creatures just let themselves in!!

Jess makes sushi!!

So we tried to make sushi, it turned out pretty good, but we bought the wrong kind of rice...oops! It actually makes quite a big difference. We bought the right kind of rice so we are going to keep experimenting and see if it turns out better.

Ship Island

We were able to get away for the weekend and go to Gulfport, Mississipspi. We took a ferry to Ship Island. Here are some pics!

27 years ago today, Tyler came into this world and changed my life forever. I am a better person having known Ty. It has almost been 2 years since Ty left this earth, but each day that passes is a day closer to being reunited!! Here is a slideshow of some fun memories!

Milo and Kati

We had a bad storm here in Mississippi the beginning of May and it tore down the fence between our house and our neighbors. It was kind of fun while we were waiting to have the fence repaired because our neighbors cute little Westie would come over to play with Milo all the time. One day Jess had just finished working a grave and he was sleeping on the couch, he left the door open so Milo could let himself in and out. Jess woke up and there was Kati and Milo sitting next to him on the couch!

Here is a video of Milo and Kati, kinda long but kinda funny. Just ignore our mess of a house. Poor Milo he doesn't know what to think, he needs more people and pets around him. Such a scaredy cat!

When there is only two of you, ya tend to eat some random stuff for dinner. We eat this salad almost every day. Plus the added bonus fake chicken nuggets (soy) that actually taste pretty good with some honey for dipping sauce. Here is the recipe for the salad (sooo...tasty):
Strawberry Salad1 large head romaine lettuce1 bag spinach leafs2 cups strawberries sliced1 jicma (hik-a-ma)11/2 cup slivered almonds candies (put them in a pan with butter and sugar and cook for a few minutes until nuts are coated, spread out onto a cookie sheet and let cool) I just put mine on a paper towel Dressing1/2c sugar or splenda1/3 cup rice vinegar1 C oil (i use olive oil, but you can use vegtable)1 pkg. "good seasons" dry Italian dressing Mix the above ingredients and serve over salad!

This is our first "house" we moved here from Colorado for Jess to complete a residency in Emergency Medicine, we do live a little ways away from the hospital but love our little neighborhood and are happy to be here for at least 3 years, (only 2 left now!)
